River’s Risin – Leftover Salmon
This song is a high energy bluegrass ballad featuring the typical holy trinity of guitarist, mandolin, and banjo–which drums and vocals. This track felt like a natural choice for my project considering I work as an audio engineer at a music venue alongside an engineer who has toured and produced this band over ten years. While not having anything to do with this original recording, his insight into their usual recording and mixing habits was paramount to building my own version of the song. The original piece was recorded at benefit charity show for a flood in my home state which I personally experienced.
